Release notes
What changed in each version of the Builder, newest first. The rest of the documentation describes the current version; this page is the history. Each release is one zip, named with its version and published with its SHA-256 hash.
1.2.5 · October 12, 2026
- The Builder. One HTML file, used from your own disk. Drop a plain-text runbook on it and it builds an interactive runbook, or lists what to correct, with the line number. It upgrades too: drop an interactive runbook built with any earlier version, including the Runbook Viewer that came before the Builder, and it takes the runbook text out, rebuilds it, and offers Save plain-text runbook.
- Interactive runbooks. A Copy button on every step that copies the code exactly, with the line endings the shell expects; steps that unlock in order; Settings as fields, escaped and written into the code; a progress file with every Done mark timestamped, which loads back only into the same runbook text; the SHA-256 hash of the saved file, shown when it is built. The Builder and every runbook carry a Content-Security-Policy that forbids network requests.
- Shells and languages. PowerShell, pwsh, Bash, sh and zsh by a
Shell:line in the header, or MySQL by aLanguage:line, with settings written asSET @name = …;and the code colored for MySQL. - The download. The Builder, the Thinware Runbook Design Guide (
runbook-design-guide.md, written for people and for AI tools that draft runbooks), a sample runbook that only reads from a Windows computer, and a README with the Builder file's own hash. - Browsers. Chrome and Edge 102 or later, Firefox 112 or later. Safari 16.4 should work but is not tested.
